HISTORY Bankfield is privately owned by David and Binnie Hopkins who have been operating four care homes in the Bury area for over 20 years. Recently it was decided to focus on two homes; Bankfield and Blackley House and move towards a specialism in dementia care Over the years there have been many very positive changes to the way we provide care and we pride ourselves in providing a home for our residents that ensures they are safe, happy and their care and well-being drives the way we look after them. We have learned much more about the importance of the environment and surroundings, especially for those who suffer from various dementias or just have physical difficulties. We now spend much more time on activities that stimulate and relax our residents. Good nutrition remains a key factor in a happy home as does the quality and capability of the staff that above all must care about their job and our residents.		It is also critical we abide by the regulations and rules that govern the care sector and ensure we are operating according to best practice. To that end we now have a new and very experienced management team who are refreshing the way we work and bringing a new focus to the care of those with dementia. For many years our homes have been rated a 2 star good and most importantly for anyone planning to come and live with us we have maintained our high ratings for the key care aspects of our homes.
